The Palm at Trinity and MLK
by Bob Harms
The largest volunteer Sabal mexicana on Waller Creek can be seen immediately west of the Trinity Street bridge, on the north side of the creek. For a good view one has to descend to the creek, best done from the southeast corner of the bridge, near the tennis courts. There is another palm almost as large just upstream from this one.
The most likely source of this palm is the tall palm just west of the Arno Nowotny building, c. 1/2 mile uphill at the intersection of I 35 and MLK.
