Bluebells

Eustoma grandiflorum

Gentianaceae Blue Purple

An erect plant to over two feet tall and sporting large flowers to three inches across, this is one of the showiest flowers in Texas. It likes the wetter parts of prairies, fields, and even roadsides and is found in most parts of the state. The flowers, which appear in summer, are variable in color, with bluish-purple, pink, white, and even yellowish possible. It does well in cultivation.
