Rose Vervain

Glandularia canadensis

Verbenaceae Blue Pink Purple

The showiest of the vervains, including this one, are put into the little genus Glandularia; at least one native species of this group occurs in every part of the state. The rose vervain is a low creeper typical of piney woods openings in East Texas but also found in open and disturbed areas there and more infrequently westward, as well as cultivated in gardens. The flowers vary from white to quite dark violet and are borne mostly in the spring.
