Texas Plume

Standing cypress is more common in north-central Texas than in central and East Texas, but wherever it is found is provides a spectacular display of red and is a most striking and memorable wildflower. It particularly likes sandy soils of post oak belt, especially where a bit rocky. It is becoming common in nursery trade and is great for attracting hummingbirds. It blooms mostly in summer.
