Pink-scale Gayfeather

This gayfeather looks rather unlike most of the other gayfeather species of Texas. It has three varieties which differ in habitat and the color of the flowering parts (from bluish to yellowish to pinkish, like this one); this variety is the most common gayfeather in the Big Thicket.
