Texas Bluebonnet

Lupinus texensis

Fabaceae Blue White

The spring-blooming Texas bluebonnet is perhaps the best known and loved wildflower in Texas. It is the species of bluebonnet most familiar to Texans and that is most planted by the highway department, but all species of bluebonnets native to the state--of which there are at least six--share in the glory of being the official “State Flower of Texas”.
