Little Nipple Cactus

Cactaceae Pink White

Barely sticking up above ground level, this little cactus is often overlooked until it flowers. It is very common in the South Texas brush country, extending northward into the Edwards Plateau and west to the Trans-Pecos. The red fruits are tiny but intensely delicious treats.
