Foxglove

Penstemon cobaea

Scrophulariaceae Pink Purple White

The wild foxglove is most common in central and north-central Texas, a small erect roadside and prairie wildflower of late spring and early summer. It is quite simply one of the most beautiful and charming wildflowers of the Texas prairies. The most common flower color is a very pale pink or lavender with darker stripes, which is if anything even more beautiful than the less typical darker form shown here.
