Esperanza or yellow trumpet-flower is a shrub that produces a magnificent outpouring of yellow blossoms in spring, summer, or fall. It is native in Texas only in rocky canyons and slopes of the mountains of the Trans-Pecos, but it is also much cultivated (and occasionally escapes) in other parts of the southern half of the state.
