Prairie Spiderwort

Tradescantia occidentalis

Commelinaceae Blue Pink Purple White

As with all spiderworts, the petals of this species wilt rapidly into “nothing” soon after picking. It is a widespread and common wildflower of Texas prairies, blooming in the morning from spring into mid-summer. Petal color varies from pink to blue to purplish.
