Name: Jessica Chong
Position: Faculty Liaison
Duties: I serve as the link between the UT faculty/researchers and SURGe. This jobs requires me to stay in contact with the UT faculty to present speakers at our lecture meetings. Also, I organize research forum panels that discuss scientific findings. I also hope to help to help improve SURGe wherever necessary.
SURGe Past: I was the SURGe Student Liaison for the years 2010-2011. I had a blast being on the leadership team and decided to be a part of it again. I began my freshmen year as a member of SURGe and participated in both the FRC and PR Committees. I also like getting involved with the plant sales and research lectures.
Research Experience: Worked alongside Dr. Mary Jamsek in the Priscilla Pond Flawn Research Laboratory where I learned to observe and understand the development of children. I was educated to provide guidance and document the children’s developmental skills in the cognitive, motor, and social fields.
About Me: Hey everyone! So I am currently a Senior majoring in Psychology with a minor in Biology and Human Development & Family. Interests of mine include dentistry, community volunteer work, music, family, dogs, broadway, soccer, tennis, learning, and just purely having fun.
