Incoming life sciences and pre-med students are required to take BIO 311C (Introductory Biology I). Bio 311C is an intense course that challenges students not only to learn facts but to apply their knowledge to real-world situations. The course covers topics from biochemistry to cellular structure to molecular genetics. The demands of the course can be overwhelming, but by enrolling your student in UT BIOS, you can give them a head-start as they begin college. UT BIOS is modeled after the successful BIOS (Biology Intensive Orientation for Students) program at LSU, which has been held for the past eight years.

Benefits of UT BIOS for students:

  • preparation for challenging college coursework
  • advanced insight into BIO 311C material
  • opportunities to network with peers and professors
  • development of study skills and application of knowledge in real-world situations
