Why UT BIOS?

Incoming freshmen can easily be overwhelmed by college. Not only is the material harder, but there is more responsibility on the student to study and prepare for lectures independently. Many life science majors start college with the dream of entering a career in health sciences or scientific research, but unprepared freshmen may be intimidated by the intensity of introductory biology courses. As many as 20% of BIO 311C students may not complete the course successfully. In order to help students gain the skills to excel in biology, we are pleased to offer UT BIOS.

UT BIOS allows students the opportunity to learn study skills, time-management skills, test-taking skills, and much more. For students taking BIO 311C in the fall, UT BIOS will show you how to succeed and give you tools that will support you throughout your academic career. This rigorous program has been carefully tailored to provide you with the tactics to tackle college biology, insight into the expectations of college professors, and also opportunities to network with your peers and to meet UT faculty.
