If you have already been assigned to a UT Austin residence hall (not an off-campus dorm), you may arrange to move in to your dorm room when you arrive for UT BIOS. Please contact Housing to arrange for early move-in and pay the associated nightly fee for early move-in.
Housing Fee: $50/night prior to official move-in
If you have not been assigned to a UT Austin residence hall, you are responsible for your own accommodations. In certain cases, you may be able to move in early to your off-campus dorm. Please contact your residence for more information.
For those who are staying in on-campus housing, please check the UT Austin housing page before you arrive to learn more about how to prepare for your move and what to bring. When you arrive, you will need to check in. All of the buildings have live-in RAs (Resident Assistants) and HCs (Hall Coordinators) that can help direct and oversee students. Nearly 1,000 students check in early each year.
Students can sign up for a check-in time online. The earliest check-in time is 4pm on Tuesday, August 21st. UT BIOS starts on Wednesday, August 22nd. (Regular check-in starts August 24th.) In case students need to travel outside of regular business hours, designated hall desks are available 24 hours a day.
